Sculptra® – a biostimulator

Sculptra® activates the skin’s ability to produce the body’s own collagen – for natural and long-lasting results for skin sagging and lack of volume on the face and cellulite on the thighs and buttocks.

What is Sculptra® and how does it work?

Sculptra® is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that stimulates the skin’s collagen production. As a result, the skin gains volume, making it firmer and firmer, resulting in a kind of rejuvenating effect. Since the body needs time to stimulate collagen production, the effects of Sculptra® unfold within 2-3 months. Over time, PLLA is broken down in the tissues and excreted from the body. The fresher, younger appearance of the skin lasts for up to 2 years after the last treatment.

  • Patients with sagging skin and/or lack of volume on the face
  • Patients with cellulite on the thigh and buttocks

How does the treatment work?

The treatment requires a detailed consultation. In this plan, the different areas of application of Sculptra® will be explained to you and an individual treatment plan will be created, which also includes the number and intervals of the individual sessions. In most cases, 2-3 sessions are scheduled at intervals of 4 weeks. On the day of treatment, an anesthetic cream is applied to the skin areas to be treated so that the puncture sites are less noticeable. The treatment itself is carried out with different needles and techniques, depending on the therapy goal. Promptly after the treatment, a replenished volume effect appears, but it disappears again after a few days. This is due to the water content in the Sculptra® . In the process, the formation of collagen is stimulated. The first permanent results appear about 2-3 weeks after the second session. After about 2-3 months, the final results are visible, which usually last for about 2 years.
